Reuters is reporting that "A woman in the border city of Laredo, Texas who was angry because she had been denied food stamps killed herself and shot and critically wounded her two children late on Monday, authorities said on Tuesday."
No, she did not kill herself because she was denied food stamps. She killed herself because she was unstable. The media would like you to believe the food stamps rejection was the reason, because they want to defend entitlements.
Was the food stamp rejection a component in the violent actions of this unstable woman? I figure so, but if not food stamps, something else would have done it. The problem was in the person, not in the denial of food stamps, or the fact that the welfare employees were allegedly not helpful enough.
People are responsible for their own individual actions. That is reality.
