Bain Capital seems like it is becoming the next Halliburton.
The GOP Candidates, except Santorum, are attacking Romney over his Bain Capital involvement. Bain Capital is one of those companies that takes over struggling companies, reorganizes them, which sometimes requires layoffs, and makes the companies viable again, or sells the company in pieces. In this environment where it seems everyone and their grandma thinks the corporations are the demons of society, Romney has become a target for daring to be a capitalist. Never mind that Obama has received more campaign funds from Bain than has Romney.
Romney's "I like to fire people" comment when referring to having the freedom of getting rid of a health insurance company an individual might not like has gotten Romney into a little trouble, too. Huntsman quipped that instead of firing people, he liked creating jobs.
Actually, when thinking about it, there was nothing wrong with Romney's response. . . in a capitalistic society. Isn't it right that a business owner should have the freedom to fire dead weight?
The public, however, wasn't looking at Romney's comment like that. He came across like he gets his jollies firing people, and that makes him look like a heartless jerk.
Still, it wasn't enough to hurt him much in New Hampshire, where Romney won the primary as expected.
