Big Government Wants to Control The Church

Get Liberty

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Statism, or the ideology of big government, is not real fond of religion. People who believe in God refuse to place almighty government above God. Christians, for example, are perfectly willing to obey the laws passed by government, until those laws are designed to force the faithful to act in a manner in opposition to their faith and good conscience. In the United States, when the movement for independence began to boil up, the British went after the Black Robe Brigade for daring to preach revolution from the pulpits.

We are a moral and religious people. When our Founding Fathers forged this nation from the blood of patriots, the politicians prayed, and the clergy preached on politics. Alexis de Tocqueville heard about this phenomenon and came here to see it for himself, and found that the nation's strength was in its churches.

John Adams said of our governmental system that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

As long as America remained moral and strong in their belief in God, no governmental tyranny could take our liberties.

Statism, therefore, had a large task ahead. For those that believed in controlling the people through a tyrannical political ruling elite, they had to destroy that which makes us free. The statists needed to get God out of our schools, and to dismantle from within faith, churches, and morality.

Today's generation, after a childhood filled with the indoctrination of the public school system, consider religion as being unimportant. Morality has become unimportant as well. This was important when working to fundamentally transform America into a socialist system, for if adherence to God, or any morality, becomes nothing more than a joke, then adherence to any other kind of standard will also become meaningless, thus, making it easier for them to disregard the Constitution, and take it apart and separate us from it. Few have read the document, and even less of us understand it.

The liberal statists are working to make faith, and the Constitution, irrelevant. By doing this, they are making your voice irrelevant. The definitions of the Constitution has been hi-jacked by case law, and the Founding Fathers have been demoted to just a bunch of racist slave owners that were nothing more than a bunch of anti-religious Masons and deists.

The Left uses this strategy of misinformation to discredit the history of this country, and ultimately the foundation of this nation. But the Founding Fathers studied history, not to ridicule it as the liberals do, but to learn from it and create a system that could stand the test of time. Their original intent was for the federal government to be limited in its scope and powers, and for the people of this nation, including the leaders, to be a very religious people that leaned on the Word of God, and placed their morals at the top of their priorities.

The politicians prayed, and the pastors preached revolution. Now, the politicians dictate, and the preachers cower.

Big government wants to control the church, force it into silent submission, and eventually eliminate the existence of faith (as if that's possible).

Christians understand that the time to stand firm has come.

Ecclesiastes 3, "To everything, there's a time, purpose, season. A time of peace and a time of war."

We have allowed the government to dictate to us our every move. The government uses the IRS to silence the churches, threatening them that they will take away their non-profit status if the pastor dares to speak out about politics. With political correctness, and the politicizing of just about all issues, the sermons can't even discuss the evils of "social justice," or perverted sexual lifestyles. Some of the churches have even perverted their doctrine and beliefs to fit the madness of the world. The liberal lie is even creeping into some of the churches.

This is no time to cower. This is the time for revolution. Big government wants to control the church, and everything else. The time is right. The time has come to be involved.

We are on a raft heading down the Niagra River, and the falls are in the distance. Are you willing to row? And are you willing to continue to row because complacency will just allow the current to send us toward the falls again?

It begins locally, and it begins with faith.

Big Government be damned, with their threats and unconstitutional actions.
