Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg recently told Egypt that they should not use the U.S. Constitution as a model for their own. Like Obama, she believes (like most liberals) that the U.S. Constitution is a document filled with negative rights, or as Barry observed, "It tells the federal government what it can't do, rather than what the government should do."
I agree with Ginsburg, but not for the same reason. She said what she said, despite her oath to protect and defend the Constitution, because Ginsburg holds disdain for the document. She abhors the fact that the Constitution was designed to restrain the federal government, rather than allowing the centralized system, and her courts, the allowance to pursue their statist, big government, desires. I, on the other hand, don't think Egyptians should use the U.S. Constitution as their model because like most Americans (unfortunately), they will fail to understand it, and its limiting principles.
Islam is an ideology that mixes the State and religion, forming an authoritarian theocracy that would not be able to work with the liberties afforded by our Constitution.
The U.S. Constitution grants express powers to the federal government. If a power is not granted, then the federal government has no authority to pursue the issue. In Islam, the ruling elite has all power over all things.
Justice Ginsburg has the same attitude towards the role of government as does Muslim leaders, minus the theocracy part. She believes the role of government encompasses all issues, and that it is the role of government to shape society, and ensure that the community progresses in a direction the political elite approves of. The liberal left looks down upon individualism, and places the welfare of the community above individual choice. If people are left to their own devices, the liberal will tell you, their greed and self-absorbed tendencies, will reduce society into a class system where the rich becomes rich on the backs of the poor. If the benevolent government wasn't there to protect the people from themselves, there would be no equality at all. It is their job, they believe, to force equality on the people using their methods of social engineering.
Yet she has sworn to protect and defend the Constitution.
Judges can be removed for bad behavior. Being against the law of the land she is sworn to uphold is bad behavior.

Once again, open disdain for our Constitution and this from a Justice of the Supreme Court! And do not think for one moment that this President, most on the left and more than a few on the right do not agree with this! They are in fact marching lockstep with her in their open disdain for our founding principles. And it is “We the People” that pay the price for their and for that matter our own follies!
Now, its time for a Moron Alert! Our Constitution is the law of this land! It is not something to be ignored or trampled on as many feel. It is not there for a Supreme Court Justice to openly dismiss! It is not there for a President to ignore and in effect say it does not apply to him as this bozo in office does every day! And it is certainly not a document that anyone in this country, in power or not has the right to dismiss as Justice Ginsburg does in her statements. It is the Law of the Land!
How dare her! Who in the hell does she think she is to ignore the document and the laws of this land, something she as well as every office holder in D.C (and don't even get me started on the corrupt lost cause that runs the Justice Department or his boss for that matter) are sworn to uphold?! And where is the outcry from the co-opted media. Good God! How can so many people have their heads so far up you know where and ignore the obvious?
