Over the last few months we have been hearing bits and pieces about what has been going on in Russia, from riots in Moscow, to protests over government actions. Vladimir Putin has now won the Presidency. He is a KGB hardliner, and it has been suggested that his victory was not on the up and up.
Why the fighting, rioting, protests, and the willingness to question the validity of the election? What has gotten into the Russian people?
Putin represents a return to the Soviet Union. He represents the opposite of the free system the Russians have been fighting for since the fall of the Iron Curtain. The Russian people have had a tiny little taste of freedom, and they liked it. They want more. They do not wish to return to the system that Putin represents.
I have a feeling it is going to get ugly in Moscow.
