Picture this happening to your neighbor, or your friend, or your sibling, or your parents, or...you:
An elderly Florida couple have been forced to move into a hotel after their home address was wrongly tweeted as belonging to the man who shot teen Trayvon Martin.
The tweets were traced back to a man in California and the address was also reportedly retweeted by director Spike Lee to his almost 250,000 followers.
The couple, aged 70 and 72, have been harassed with hate mail, been hassled by media and had scared neighbors questioning them since the tweet, their son Chip Humble told the Orlando Sentinel.
Nice, huh? There you and your spouse sit one day, enjoying your retirement; maybe the grandkids are going to visit this weekend. You hobble around on two artificial hips that pain you, s/he endures rheumotoid arthritis, you both take so many pills that you rattle when you walk, but you both do okay. You worked for years, played by the rules, have always minded your own business, never hurt anyone. Maybe you don't even pay attention to politics or current events. In short, you've earned your peaceful golden years.
And then, unbeknownst to you, some dickhead who can't read a bleeping Tom-Tom somehow mistakes your address for George Zimmerman's and, against Twitter's terms of service, tweets it to the world. And then a professional dickhead who fancies himself a badass and deep racial thinker from gnawing on towels at New York Knick games and making a cavalcade of crappy movies, respectively, retweets it to a far wider audience, again, while you are blissfully unaware - until the harassment and hate mail and death threats start, leaving you both bewildered and understandably frightened. For an elderly couple, the stress would be much more likely to be health-endangering. What if one if them has a heart attack or stroke because of it?
Which is not to say that this would be easy-peasy-lemon squeezy if the first dickhead had gotten Zimmerman's address correct. There's a word for what's happened to race relations under the Klansman-in-Chief: Tribalism. Not so much ethnically as ideologically, although there is obviously an ethnic component to it. Under this president and his commissar-esque attorney-general, well, everything and everyone has suffered, but their biggest victims have been race harmony and the rule of law. The Regime never misses an opportunity to smear its self-declared enemies as "racists," to divide and conflagrate racial tensions and hostility, and to give free reign to lawlessness and violence that has the "correct" perps and the "correct" victims - and advances the cause of "wrenching national transformation":
Time was when organizing "hits" on people was something organized crime did. Time was when that sort of thing was - what's the phrase I'm looking for? - AGAINST THE LAW. As in "You have the right to remain silent, etc., etc." and handcuffs and orange jumpsuits and frog-marching. But not under the benevolent oversight of Eric The Red's Department of Injustice & Revenge, whose greatest source of outrage is that all us bitter, clinging, whitey honky crackers still want to think that this is still OUR country as much as His Infernal Majesty's.
As I say, there's unquestionably a racial component to this burgeoning totalitarianist thuggery, but it's also (big surprise) classist as well:
Angry over steps being taken due to a financial emergency in Detroit, New Black Panther Party leader Malik Shabazz (not to be confused with Malik Zulu Shabazz, national leader of the group) declared he would burn the city down.
"This is white on black crime," he said during public comment at the two hour meeting held Monday afternoon.
"This is white supremacy. Before you can take over our city, we will burn it down," he added.
Sound like something out of Robocop, doesn't it?
No, Malik, this is not "white supremacy". This is the inevitable result of decades of unchecked, corrupt, incompetent, iron-fisted Democrat rule that has driven the once-vibrant, bustling city of Detroit into the f'ing ground. It's the self-same course Barack Obama has charted for the nation at large. And you, Malik, ought to experience hand-cuffs, orange jumpsuits, and frog-marching firsthand for your bald insurrectionary threat.
Torching cities, mobesque bounties, terrorizing innocent citizens - this is the true, hideously ugly face of Obamunism. This is "Hopenchange". This is what is at stake just over seven months from now.
Did I mention that the elderly couple whose lives Spike Lee tried to destroy have retained legal counsel? Here's hoping they "do the right thing," and lighten Mars Blackmon's wallet in the eight or nine figure range.
UPDATE: That didn't take long....
