Statists have had a target on the back of the United States Constitution from the very beginning. Alexander Hamilton, a person who wanted the President to be a king, and for America to be the next great empire, invented the concept of implied powers and national centralized banking to try and circumvent the Constitution. John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States created Judicial Review in his opinion of the Marbury v. Madison case in 1803 as a way of allowing the courts to subvert the Constitution. Abraham Lincoln stomped all over the Constitution during the American Civil War, claiming that his war powers allowed him to. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as he pushed his unconstitutional agenda, attempted to pack the courts so that the federal court system wouldn't stand in his way. Eisenhower signed federal highway legislation similar to a public works bill that James Madison proclaimed to be unconstitutional in 1817. Lyndon B. Johnson's Great Society increased unconstitutional entitlement programs without even considering the role of the States, or private charity organizations. A move launched by Woodrow Wilson's League of Nations, and furthered by Jimmy Carter, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton took aim at including the United States in a global scheme that the Constitution, or the writings of the Founding Fathers, hardly suggests is in our best interest. George W. Bush signed the Patriot Act which is riddled with federal intrusion into the lives of Americans, once again without regard to the authorities granted by the United States Constitution. Barack Obama has all but lit the document on fire.
It is no secret that statism, through progressive and liberal tactics, aims to make the Constitution irrelevant, and illegal.
The attacks on the Constitution have been nothing compared to what Islam wants to do to it.
Islam uses the mask of religion to push its political ideology. The Constitution is a problem for Islam because though the First Amendment protects religious freedoms, which has been a back-door tool for Muslims in America, the document also grants the federal government only limited powers. Islam is a highly centralized authoritarian political system that uses religion to keep the followers in line, and willing to die for the fascist ideology. Muslims desire to replace the Constitution with Sharia law, and any attempt to stop any event that reveals that reality becomes a target.
Fueled by a complaint by CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), an event earlier this year extolling the virtues of the U.S. Constitution in Michigan was shut down by the Allegan Police Department. School officials, probably happy to find a way to stop the event despite an existing contract, notified police that they had received a letter complaining about the event from Dawud Walid, Executive Director of CAIR.
Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, which is filing a lawsuit arguing that the shut-down of the event carried with it constitutional and contract violations, commented on the case, "It's amazing how much clout CAIR has with the political establishment of both parties in Lansing and throughout Michigan and the nation. This, despite the fact that CAIR has its roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, and the FBI's former chief of counterterrorism, noted that CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups. Press accounts make it clear that an indictment naming CAIR as a defendant in the Holy Land Foundation trial was squelched by Attorney General Holder's office despite vehement objections by FBI agents and the federal prosecutors in Dallas."
The event in question was named "Constituting Michigan – Founding Principles Act," and took place on January 26, 2012 at an Allegan High School auditorium which had been rented by one of the event sponsors and organizers, Willis Sage.
The purpose of the event was to inform the public about the importance of honoring the United States Constitution, to recognize the internal threat to America posed by radical Muslims and the dangers to our free society caused by the imposition of Sharia law.
The first excuse used by the Allegan police was that they had to shut down the event because of threats against speakers at the event. However, that was later proven to be false, and the police chief admitted to a reporter that there was no specific threat to the event and no real danger at all. No specific threats of violence relating to the event were received by the City of Allegan, its police department, the Allegan Public School District or Allegan Public High School.
The police department's claim that the free speech event needed to be shut-down for safety reasons was simply evidence of how much influence Islamic political organizations have on our system. The police were jumping through hoops to comply with the demands of CAIR, an organization that abhors the Constitution, and this nation as founded.
