TEA Party Lives: Ted Cruz Forces Texas Senate Runoff

We are told by the liberal left constantly that the TEA Party is dead, done with, and a minor voice in politics. The democrats believe this because the TEA Party is no longer in protest mode. That does not mean the TEA Party is gone. They are now in political mode, and the wins in the Republican Primaries this election season is evidence. One of the big ones is taking place in Texas, where TEA Party candidate Ted Cruz has forced David Dewhurst into a Texas Senate Runoff.

Ted Cruz is an American of Cuban descent, and a lawyer who served as state solicitor general. Cruz, and seven other Republicans competing in the Senate primary, held Dewhurst to 47 percent of the vote, putting Dewhurst short of the majority required to avoid a July 31 runoff. Cruz placed second with 32 percent to secure his runoff spot.

Cruz has been endorsed by the Tea Party Express, FreedomWorks, Sarah Palin and others connected to the TEA Party.

The runoff will determine the GOP nominee to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.
