Obama's Communications Executive Order

By Douglas V. Gibbs

Dictators do all they can to position themselves to take full control when they see the opportunity. Last Friday, Heir Obama issued an Executive Order enabling him to grab full control of communications in the case of a national emergency. Yes, I realize this is normal, but the timing was interesting. This order comes less than a week after a severe storm knocked out power to the Washington DC area.

“The federal government must have the ability to communicate at all times and under all circumstances to carry out its most critical and time sensitive missions,” the order reads, which calls for “survivable, resilient, enduring and effective communications” during emergencies.

I just don't trust this guy. Everything he does seems to have a hidden motive, so why not this?
