In California gun rights are under further attack with Senate Bill 249. Originally an agricultural bill, the bill was changed in May to propose to restrict magazine release components in semi-auto firearms.
If passed into law, the bill would make it illegal to possess parts for magazine releases on most semi-auto firearms with detachable magazines, making it more difficult to release the magazine. There are hundreds of thousands of firearms that may be impacted by SB 249.

Mind you, these firearms are legally owned by citizens who have these guns for protection. SB 249 could potentially make criminals out of law-abiding citizens, while criminals who have no regard for the law will not abide and therefore gain an advantage over their victims.
