Tyranny rules by fear. Fear is the most effective weapon in controlling the actions of the populace. Communism used fear to force their socialist policies upon the people. Hitler used fear to keep the German people in line. The Caesars used fear to hold together an empire. The democrats use fear to remain in power, and push their destructive communist policies.
The Fiscal Cliff is a great example on how they use fear to achieve their means. There is no fiscal cliff, or at least not in the way the liberal democrats are describing. Sure, if the tax rates expire, and the wrong kind of spending cuts go into effect, as the democrats are threatening, we will be in for a rough ride - but we will not spill over a cliff.
The idea that we are headed towards a fiscal cliff that we will plummet over to our destruction is a concept created and nurtured by the liberal democrats for the specific purpose of guiding this nation, through fear of the fiscal cliff, in the direction the leftists want.
An economic collapse does indeed loom in the future should we continue down the path the democrats have us on. Pain will be inflicted. The economy will suffer. I believe we are in for a rough ride, and you do too - and the democrats know your fears. They created the fiscal cliff to play upon your fears. Fear is their tool. They will play upon your fear until the nation tumbles over the so-called fiscal cliff, and they will blame the republicans, and because of your fears, you will believe them.
The democrats are using fear no differently than they used fear to win the election. The voters didn't vote for Obama. Many of them voted against Romney - fearful they would lose something if he was elected. The war on women, entitlements, and the various other attacks against the GOP, were all geared to feed your fears, to make you believe that if Romney was to win, your fears would be confirmed.
Fear. Fear the republicans would take away contraception. Fear the republicans would take away health care. Fear the republicans would take away entitlements.
Conservatives, they told you, are America's version of The Taliban.
Fear - The tool of tyrants.
And out of fear, America re-elected a tyrant.
