I am extremely bothered that Obama's Inauguration for a second term has landed on a day given to us to celebrate the life of a great man who fought for equality for all people, regardless of race, creed, or color.
Among King's most famous quotes is, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Black voters, however, admittedly voted for Obama both times not necessarily because of his platform, or the content of his character, but because of the color of his skin. Obama's character resembles those of tyrants born far from the shores of America, yet because of his Black Heritage on his father's side, he was overwhelmingly supported by the Black Vote, and white folks suffering from white guilt . . . of which they were taught to believe in the public schools.
As Danny Glover has exclaimed, and schools around America teach, we are still haunted by white oppressors.
You can't be racist against whitey, I was once told.
Racism is racism, and Obama's election was the epitome of racism. . . as is his policies.
