California Democrats Move Against Guns - Gun Confiscation is Next

By Douglas V. Gibbs

And then they came for the guns.

On Saturday a friend of mine in Michigan told me in California we have big problems.  The democrats in that State, he told me, who have a super-majority, are going after the guns with legislation that will make New York's look like child's play.

Chicago, a city that has among the strictest gun laws in the nation had more than 500 homicides last year.

In an interview with Alex Jones, Piers Morgan told his guest that gun confiscation in Britain has reduced the number of gun deaths in that country.  However, in Britain the violent crime rate has gone up, as has home invasions.  The criminal element is willing to use whatever weapon they can obtain, and with no guns being allowed in society, their criminal activity goes up because they no longer worry about the potential victims being armed.  There may have been less gun deaths, but overall violent crime, and death as a result of those violent crimes, has gone way up.

The best way to protect oneself against a violent criminal is with a loaded firearm pointed at them.

In California, the ruling democrats are looking at the following restrictions, and because there is no gun protections in our State Constitution, there is little we can do to stop the madness:

- Possession of hollow point bullets and similar assault bullets a felony.

- Must register and report ammo purchases. Only purchase max 500 rounds.

- 10 round magazine limit

- ALL magazines must be fixed to the gun (can not be removed without the use of a tool)

- 100% prohibition of all magazines greater than 10 rounds. All previous grandfathered magazines become illegal. Felony if you keep one.

- Changing definition of shotgun revolving cylinder — Basically only single shot shotguns will remain legal.

- Bullet Buttons will become illegal — All AR and AK style rifles that are currently equipped with them will be designated Assault Weapons. Felony to possess.

- All gun owners now must be licensed like drivers.

- All gun owners must carry gun liability insurance

The great exodus that we have been seeing as people leave the State of California is about to increase.  People will be leaving this State in droves, if this kind of legislation winds up on the books.  Based on those rules being proposed, only my revolvers, and my shot gun will be legal.  The rest of my guns will be going to my place in Oregon.

The gun liability insurance is an interesting one.  People are already barely able to scrape by financially, and they are going to mandate we buy gun insurance?

What is going to happen is as a result of these laws, the State will become more dangerous, and the political ruling elite will then decide gun confiscation is the only thing they can do to stop the violence.  Then, violent crime will increase even worse, home invasions will increase, and the liberal left idiots in Sacramento will be scratching their heads wondering why their plan to disarm law-abiding citizens didn't work.

Last time I checked, the criminal element could care less about the laws.  The lawless will continue to use the banned bullets, will find a way to get their hands on bullets without them being registered, will continue to use high-capacity magazines that can be removed from their gun without a tool, will continue to use the guns the liberal left thinks are scary (they call them assault weapons), and the criminal element will not get a license, nor will they carry insurance.  But, knowing that the law-abiding citizens will follow these rules, they will broaden their criminal activities with less fear of an armed citizen.  Once a full gun ban is in place, the madness will erupt in ways that only those that have lived in such a society can explain.

Oh, and that no grandfathering thing is unconstitutional.  Article I, Section 10 explicitly prohibits the States from passing ex-post facto laws.

The British have sent us a warning, since their guns were confiscated in 1997.  "Don't let them take your guns."

Freedom matters. Fight for it.

The Revolutionary War began on Lexington Green, where the Minutemen stopped the British Redcoats on their way to Concord, Massachusetts.  In Concord was the largest ammunition stash in the colonies.  In other words, the shot heard around the world that started the American War of Independence was fired because the British came for our guns.

My message to the idiots in the California government, and the federal government in Washington, is simple.  You can have my guns when you pry them from my cold, dead fingers.  Be warned, the last thirty yards can be hell.
