After receiving the above Breaking News Alert from the New York Times, my first thought was, "So the courts are supposed to apply the law, but Obama is telling them to disregard what they think about the law, and do what he wants, instead.
When it comes to marriage, from a personal moral standpoint, I have a real problem with a group of people practicing an immoral sexual behavior, of which they can act upon if they want, it's their own business and their consequences, deciding to hijack the institution of marriage, of which just a few decades ago they were ridiculing.
I believe the attack on marriage is a step by the homosexual agenda to destroy the church. Their goal is to eventually gain marriage as a "constitutional right," and then sue churches for denying them their constitutional right, and destroying Christianity by forcing homosexuality into the four walls of the various Christian establishments.
A great example of how the agenda of perversion is accomplishing this is a separate story where a transgender student is suing California Baptist University for kicking him out of school, because he lives as a she, and put he is a she on his application. The school claims they expelled the student because of the fraudulent claim on the application that he was a she.
Why would a transgender student choose a Baptist university to enroll at in the first place? The fix was on from the very beginning.
This is the first step towards their goal to destroy religious institutions in America. First, a Christian University, next, the churches themselves.
This is what happens when government gets involved in marriage. Marriage should not even be a political or governmental issue. I get it, it is for legal reasons, but if government did not have a hand in marriage, the churches would act independently as they feel they should. Some churches may allow gay marriage in a world like that, some may not. The flock would then choose which ones they should attend based on those doctrinal decisions.
Then, if we bring the Constitution into the puzzle, another interesting fact arises.
Nowhere in the Constitution is the federal government authorized to have any authority over marriage. It is a State issue. If you don't like the way your State legislates on marriage, you can work to change it, put up and shut up, or move to a State that agrees with you.
Proposition 8 was a change to the State Constitution voted in by the people. The federal government has no legal authority over the issue. That means the federal courts have no business taking the case. But, the Supreme Court is getting ready to hear the case, and Obama is urging the High Court to ignore the Constitution, ignore the law, and ignore the vote of the people.
This is supposed to be a system that exists under the rule of law (Constitution), but instead, it has become a system under the rule of man. . . and Obama thinks he is the ultimate decision-maker.

It does appear the Obama administration is using whatever side-door abilities it can capitalize from to weaken and destroy the fundamental foundations of our constitution. With no apparent oppositional congress willing to challenge Obama, they are either inadvertently, or intentionally committing treasonous actions against the Constitution. Norm Bryant
