When it comes to Senator Mitch McConnell's office being illegally bugged, the liberal mainstream media is pretty much downplaying it. Democrats broke the law, and that just can't be reported.

On December 5, 2012, a number of Democrats attended a meeting at the White House. Among those in attendance was Barack Obama’s chief campaign fundraise Matthew Barzun from Kentucky. Barzun wasn’t the only Kentucky Democrat that attended the White House meeting, so did Shawn Reilly. Reilly signed in on the White House visitor’s log as part of the same group as Barzun, at the same time as Barzun, and was listed as attending a meeting in the same room as Barzun.
A few days after the White House meeting, Reilly began his attacks on KY Sen. Mitch McConnell, who also happens to be the Senate Minority Leader. He made no secret that his goal and the goal of his liberal leftist political action committee, Progress Kentucky, was to replace McConnell in the US Senate with a liberal Democrat. At the time, actress Ashley Judd had been indicating that she would run against McConnell, but when other information on her began to surface, the DNC started withdrawing their support and the last I heard, she has decided not to run for office.
On February 2, 2013, Reilly and Progress Kentucky co-founder Curtis Morrison, somehow snuck into an open house meeting being held by McConnell. During the lunch sessions, McConnell, his staff and closest supporters met privately to hold a campaign strategy meeting. Reilly managed to bug the closed meeting where some members of McConnell staff made disparaging remarks about Ashley Judd.
Earlier this month, Reilly released the tapes of the closed campaign meeting to the public via the very liberal magazine and website Mother Jones. Reilly is now facing criminal charges for his illegal taping of McConnell’s closed campaign meeting.
Once it became known that Reilly was behind the leaked tape of the McConnell meeting, national Democratic leaders began distancing themselves from him, most claiming to have no idea who he was. Reilly was described as being a political nobody who was acting completely on his own.
However, records later showed the Reilly was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte last year where he was able to rub shoulders with many of the top Democratic leaders. Additionally, his presence at the White House meeting in December indicates that Reilly is not a nobody. Nobodies are not invited to attend important White House political meetings. Furthermore, he was in the company of Obama’s chief campaign fundraiser Matthew Barzun, also an indicator that Reilly was not a political nobody.
At this point, one can’t help but ask the obvious question of Reilly being instructed to do what he could to unseat and discredit Sen. McConnell. Was that part of the strategy that was discussed at the White House Democratic meeting?
Might I add, is Obama lying about his knowledge of this?
