The Next Domino: Turkey

By Douglas V. Gibbs

As the Islamist regime in Turkey solidifies its power, riots have erupted in the country.  Some in the West, in addition to those causing unrest in Turkey, are beginning to suspect that the regime under the charge of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan may be totalitarian in nature.  The people, or at least the ones rioting, are not happy with the ruling regime.  They knew Erdogan was an Islamist, but apparently some of those that reside in Turkey did not expect the government to head so far towards Islamic extremism.

Decades of being very "Western-like" is a hard habit to break.

The rest of the populace are surely comfortable with the lean towards Islamic fundamentalism in Turkey.

The move in that direction is just what the Muslims of the jihad were hoping for, however, for the next domino to fall being Turkey is a valuable tool for the drive towards Islamic domination of the world, which may need to begin with the rebirth of the Ottoman Empire.

Turkey was once the head of the Ottoman Empire, but the empire has been wounded.  After World War I, the Ottoman Empire, the last Islamic Caliphate, was dismantled, and the colonial powers took control of the new, separated regions.  Though the Caliphate was abolished in 1924, a new Islamic Empire is arising anew, and Turkey may very well be in position to be the head of that empire once again.  The parts of the former Ottoman Empire, and other Muslim nations that have turned to Muhammadism since, are consolidating their power, and are developing new bonds of unity.  The goal is that the once great Caliphate rises again, restored to its position of power, poised to dominate, and poised to use Turkey, with its gateway to the West, as the head once again.

Turkey has been long the shining example used by those that wish to downplay the violent nature of Islam.  Democracy has worked in Turkey.  The country has been an ally of the West for a long time, showing that a Westernization of an Islamic country is possible. . . until recently.

In the last decade the Islamists have retaken control of Turkey, and with each passing year a radical journey towards extremism has strengthened.  The last Islamic Empire had its capital in Istanbul, on the northwestern corner of Turkey, a perfect location near Europe, watching and interacting with the lands to the west  as a bridge between Europe and the Middle East.

Turkey's reputation for being moderate places the country in a pivotal position for Islam, but though the Islamists are gaining control of Turkey, the world's leaders act as if Turkey is still hanging on to its moderate history.  If the Islamists decide to use that for their own means, it will enable them to deceive their enemies, lulling them into complacency, and allowing Turkey to fill a role of mediator and guarantor of a comprehensive peace treaty between Israel, and the Muslim nations that pose as a threat against her.  The world will feel secure in such a treaty, because of the history of Turkey as a moderate nation, even though the country is becoming radical, and will be hiding its true, blood-thirsty intentions.

Why would such a treaty be needed?  Why would Turkey orchestrate a treaty proclaiming a false peace with Israel?

Islam has learned that the way to defeat her enemies is not to always use terror, but often to use deception, so that the enemy becomes relaxed, and willing to either be taken from within, or to lower her defenses so that terror can be used more effectively.

Enjoying global significance because of its geographic location between Europe and Asia, Islam needs Turkey within the Islamist fold.  With a trend towards Islamism in full swing in Turkey, coupled with violence in the country, what we are seeing in Turkey is no surprise.  Turkey has stood as a solid friend and ally to Israel and the United States in the past, so the country makes a perfect addition to the deception of Islam.  Israel and the United States are so hoping that Turkey is still a fully reliable ally, that they are in denial of Turkey's turn towards Islamism, and the Muslim World plans to take full advantage of that.

Though Turkey claims to be friends with Israel and the U.S., remember that the country is also allies with Iran, Syria (though recent border battles as a result of Syria's civil war has tarnished that), Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Turkey is falling to Islamism, and will soon be as extreme as Iran, but they will hide that fact, hoping to use their history as a bridge between Europe and the Middle East for the benefit of the rising caliphate.  Turkey will be Islamist, but will try to serve as mediator between Islam and the West.  Leftism wants desperately to build bridges of unity with Islam, and Islam knows that Turkey is a key to that deception happening.,  Turkey is the next domino to fall to Islamism, but will simultaneously serve as a bridge, restoring order in the region, and gaining prominence in the world for her diplomatic ingenuity.

Peace, however, will come at a price, for as Turkey rises as the region's new superpower, the demand for nuclear capabilities will follow, and as we did with Iran, we will complain, but do nothing, as Turkey acquires nuclear technology, and the delivery systems necessary to transport nuclear warheads into the bellies of the enemies of Islam.
