The female Sunday School teacher was sitting in her car while the officer was standing next to the driver’s side door talking with her. The officer claimed that the woman rolled up her window on his arm and dragged him down the street, but an eye witness to the tragedy says otherwise.
A local news reporter interviewed a man who says he saw the officer demand the woman keep her window rolled down. When she did not comply, he fired once. When she started driving away, the officer shot into the car five more times.
A judge sentenced a former Culpeper police officer convicted in a February 2012 fatal shooting to 36 months Thursday.
The judge rejected a request for the jury's verdict to be overturned and went straight to sentencing, according to News4 Northern Virginia Bureau reporter David Culver.
A jury found Daniel Harmon-Wright guilty Jan. 29 on three charges -- including voluntary manslaughter -- for the death of Patricia Ann Cook in the parking lot of a Catholic school.
Jurors said they recommended one year for each of the charges, Culver reported in February. The prosecution said they were "satisfied" with how the jury came to their recommendation, but defense attorney Daniel Hawes said he still believes his client is innocent.

How far has policing evolved that an officer would see fit to execute a lady for refusing to roll down her window over some petty action?
Time to get rid of these bottom feeders as we don't need punk thugs ordering us to put on seat belts and bill us, order us to drive slower than some arbitrary posted sign. Must we confine our kids in special seats, be told what drugs and drink we can and can't enjoy while driving? Bull!
