Misdirection. Slight of Hand. Illusions. They are all tools of magicians, for in order to amaze you, they must fool you. The actions are subtle, out of sight, and are designed to keep you from knowing the truth.
Smoke and mirrors.
People take reality for granted. Reality is expected, so what is expected is reality, even though it isn't.
Everyday we experience the fraud of perception. People are unaware of the difference between what is, and what seems to be.
Our minds see what is visible, and perceives most of the picture, but our brains are unable to see everything. There are too many things out there to perceive all of it, and there are too many distractions, so we have difficulty remaining focused on the object in question. Therefore, we make a lot of assumptions. We decide what should be, and what ought to be, so that we may fill in the empty spaces.
Magicians know how we look at the world, and they take advantage of that knowledge. And in the case of magicians, we know they are tricking us, and yet they still pull off the illusion, which means the act of fooling our minds reaches into deeper levels of our psyche than we normally experience. Sometimes, the eyes can even see the moves clearly, can see the truth of the illusions, yet the mind cannot comprehend them.
People are unable to accept that they have been fooled. So, even though they know it is all just deception, they call it magic, and applaud the deceivers after the illusion is complete.
Politicians use the same art of misdirection. They use distractions, and half-truths. They say one thing, and do the other. They must fool you, for if you knew their true agenda, you would never vote them into office.
The growth of tyranny has been historically subtle. The move towards leftism has been so slow that the public not only does not notice, but eventually accepts the small increases of power. The small doses are designed to keep you from noticing the truth.
Smoke and mirrors.
People take government for granted. We expect the government to do certain things, and they tell us that is what they are doing. So, we accept the narrative, even though they are lying to us about what they are doing.
Everyday we experience the fraud of perception. People are unaware of the difference between what is, and what seems to be.
We know that all politicians are liars. "How do you know a politician is lying?" the old joke begins. "Their lips are moving."
We know they lie to us, yet we believe them while they are lying. We believe them when they tell us that they did not cause the problem that they caused, and that when government is the last thing we need, their plan is to apply more government as a solution.
Our minds see only what they allow us to see. We perceive the puzzle pieces they are willing to reveal. We know that they do this. We know that we don't see everything. There are too many things out there. We can't perceive all of it. There are too many distractions, so we have difficulty remaining focused on the object in question. Therefore, we make a lot of assumptions. We decide what should be, and what ought to be, to fill in the empty spaces.
Politicians know how we look at the world, and they take advantage of that knowledge. We know they are power hungry, greedy, and deceptive, yet they still pull off their policies because we allow them to fool us. Sometimes, we even see clearly what they are up to, but deny the truth because we can't comprehend anyone would actually do such a thing. . . especially those we place in positions of government.
People are unable to accept that they have been fooled. So, even though they know it is all just deception, they accept it as "just the way it is."
And then to make it easier on themselves, the members of the population refuse to discuss politics with anyone.
Out of mind, out of concern.
As a result, the liberal left doesn't even hide behind deception, anymore. President Barack Obama is using Executive Orders to change laws, and make power grabs, in direct violation of Article I, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, which tells us that all legislative powers belong to Congress.
President Obama picks and chooses what laws to enforce, and to not enforce, in violation of Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution, which requires the President to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed."
The Supreme Court has been ruling on cases regarding State Laws on State Issues, in violation of Article III, and the 10th Amendment, which tells us that the Federal Government has no authority over issues in which the authority is not enumerated in the Constitution, nor prohibited to the States.
The Federal Government was created through the Constitution to protect the sovereignty of the States, yet the Federal Government is suing the States for not acting in accordance to the dictates of the federal ruling class.
And we accept it, because we have been deceived by a hoax that is perpetuated by the progressive leftists, and we refuse to believe that in reality these people are worse than liberals and progressives. They are socialists. They are Alinsky radicals. They are Marxists. They are communists. They are the antithesis of what made this nation prosper over the last two-plus centuries.
We can't comprehend the truth because we refuse to admit that we have been misdirected, fooled, and deceived.
Only the lens of the Constitution will open our eyes, and enable us to recognize the slight of hand.
We get the government we deserve.
