Barbara Walters On Obama: 'We Thought He Was Going To Be The Next Messiah'

by JASmius

Yes, she really said it. On CNN's Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, "We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn't say this at Christmastime - but the next messiah."

Just imagine someone of Walters' stature actually admitting that she and others expected Obama to be the next messiah. Quite a thing to say on the very day a new poll finds this president with the lowest approval rating of any since Nixon.

It's also worth noting that this came the day after the Washington Post said Obama was responsible for three of the top ten biggest Pinocchios of the year, and five days after PolitiFact awarded him the Lie of the Year. Some messiah, Barbara.

Exit question: What on Earth was wrong with the First One?

UPDATE: Norville Rose's take....

Idolatry Is Forbidden

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

“Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am the Lord your God. Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten gods; I am the Lord your God.

Idolatry Leads to Servitude

Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them (that is, all who had not [a]experienced any of the wars of Canaan; only in order that the generations of the sons of Israel might [b]be taught war, [c]those who had not [d]experienced it formerly). These nations are: the five lords of the Philistines and all the Canaanites and the Sidonians and the Hivites who lived in Mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal-hermon as far as [e]Lebo-hamath. They were for [f]testing Israel, to find out if they would [g]obey the commandments of the Lord, which He had commanded their fathers [h]through Moses. The sons of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and they took their daughters for themselves as wives, and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods.

The sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the [i]Asheroth. Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, so that He sold them into the hands of Cushan-rishathaim king of [j]Mesopotamia; and the sons of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.

If False Messiah leaves when he's supposed to, the sons of America will have served an idol for eight years.  But I fear the servitude will be far, far more long lived.

Jus' sayin'.
