A Cold, Cold Global Warming Weekend

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The deep freeze on the United States is reaching historical proportions.  Records are being set, and lives are being disrupted.  As a ship full of global warming scientists remains stuck in Antarctic ice, and the environmentalists are escaping by helicopter to nearby ice breakers (they had to go to the Australian ship, the Chinese one got stuck in the ice), the weather patterns of the world are reminding us that though humanity arrogantly believes he has a great influence on climate, but in the end it is up to natural forces to determine if we warm, cool, or remain stable.  In history, the Earth has been warmer than it is today, and it has been cooler, and the levels of carbon dioxide had no impact on those trends.  It is about the sun, and it has always been about the sun.
