Obamacare, Gay Marriage, State's Rights, State Sovereignty, Judges, Economic Insanity, Unemployment Rate, Unemployment Benefits, and Chris Christie's Bridgegate are all going to be discussed on today's show, along with the Book of the Week, and the Constitution Quest Question of the Week - But governmental attention to Douglas V. Gibbs, and his showmate Nate, has reached conspiracy-like proportions. . . and that will dominate the opening monologue!
Listen live to Constitution Radio with Douglas V. Gibbs today at 2:00 pm Pacific on KCAA 1050AM, or Online at KCAAradio.com (or by phone at 832-999-1050). You can call in to join the conversation at 888-909-1050. If you miss the live show, you can catch the archived podcast on our podcast page. I will be joined by Alex Ferguson and JASmius as we discuss the News of the Week, and the Culture of Corruption and Control by the leftists that are doing all they can to seek more and more power. Is what they are doing Constitution?
This show looks at the issues through the lens of the Constitution. This is not about Democrats versus Republicans as much as it is about Statism versus The Founding Principles of this Nation as prescribed by the United States Constitution.
Today's Book of the Week focuses on Nancy Pelosi.
Today's Constitution Quest Question of the Week focuses on the differences and connections between the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Executive Branch's State of the Union Address.
Then, we will embark on the 5 Big Stories of the Week:
5 Big Stories of the Week, January 11, 2014
5. Obamacare Lawsuit to block the federal government from helping to pay for health care coverage for members of Congress and their staffs

4. Holder Disregards State’s Actions on Gay Marriage in Utah, Overrides Governor
- Remember my quote by Joe Klein in Time Magazine’s February 6, 2012 Issue in article “Obama’s Fairness Doctrine?” (http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2105453,00.html):
Joe Klein Wrote in his article about containing conservatism: ‘This is, without question, the strongest argument against the Darwinian “freedom” Republicans are touting. It is a reminder that the Constitution was a stitching device, written to unify and control the states, not merely to liberate them.’
The Democrats abhor State Sovereignty, and actually see it as dangerous. They believe the federal government is all powerful, and is there to keep the States from misbehaving. . .
Now the link to Holder’s disregard for States’ Rights, and his apparent belief that we don’t need governors, the federal government can control the States without them:

3. Economic Insanity, Democrats claim the opposite of truth, and then apply the truth in big liberal cities
Obama says paying people not to work creates jobs: http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/transcript-president-obamas-jan-7-remarks-on-unemployment/2014/01/07/79c65704-77bc-11e3-b1c5-739e63e9c9a7_story.html
Obama names promise zones (in large, liberal cities) where to help they will give tax breaks and encourage small business development: http://www.usatoday.com/story/theoval/2014/01/08/obama-promise-zones-san-antonio-philadelphia-los-angeles/4368697/

2. The Work To Further Extend Unemployment Benefits, as the unemployment rate drops because people are dropping off the unemployment rolls

But let's not forget what really works!
http://blogs.marketwatch.com/capitolreport/2014/01/08/what-happens-when-jobless-benefits-are-cut-north-carolina-may-offer-clues/
Last summer, North Carolina cut the amount of cash people received in jobless benefits. They also reduced the number of weeks people were eligible to receive benefits. The result of reducing the benfit? People got off their butts and began to look for work! The unemployment rate fell within months. By last November, North Carolina's unemployment rate was at a five-year low.
