Pryor: Cotton Thinks His Military Service Entitles Him To My Seat

by JASmius

I know it's not very practical for an embattled incumbent U.S. senator to have to walk on verbal eggshells all the time.  Paralysis can be just as politically counterproductive as recklessness.  But isn't there a happy medium between the two?  Because it certainly looks like Mark Pryor is still looking for it.

Not showing up to be on with Tom Cotton compounds the PR headache for Senator Pryor, it seems to me.  First he says something stupid, then he refuses to "own" it.  Not that I don't understand why Pryor wouldn't be eager to be face to face with his challenger, as evidenced by Cotton's immediate launch into Pryor's deciding vote for ObamaCare.  He's going to have to endure enough of that between now and November as it is.

But that gets back to his faltering mouth control.  There isn't much Pryor can say, but there's a whole lot more he shouldn't.
