Gay GOP House Candidate: Liberals Are Persecuting Me

by JASmius

Speaking of guilt by association with a political party, get a load of these dirty, rotten homophobes:

Carl DeMaio, an openly gay candidate for California's 52nd Congressional District, says liberals have been trashing him simply because he's a Republican.

"I don't wear my orientation on my sleeve, it's who I am. But it doesn't define the thorough breadth of what I am in terms of a leader for San Diego," DeMaio told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

But, DeMaio added, a number of left-leaning groups who claim to want to support gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender candidates have worked against him strictly because of his GOP affiliation.

"My view is that the left is using social issues as a shiny distraction object because they don't want to talk about issues like fiscal reform, economic prosperity, government accountability, because if they did, they would lose elections," he said Wednesday.

Carl DeMaio is no different than Clarence Thomas, Marco Rubio, or Sarah Palin.  How, you may ask?  In the same way that Clarence Thomas "isn't really black" because he's a conservative Republican; and Sarah Palin "isn't really a woman" because she's a conservative.....well, not Republican, but you catch my drift; and Marco Rubio "isn't really a Hispanic" because he's....well, he's not all that conservative anymore, but he is a Republican - Carl DeMaio "isn't really homosexual" because he's a conservative Republican, because he doesn't wear his retrograde sexuality "on his sleeve," because he doesn't militantly shove it down everybody else's throats, because he doesn't dress like and pose with drag queens, as the Dems Photoshopped him in one attack ad.  And just as Obamunists engage in the vilest sorts of racism and sexism against women and minorities who dare to think for themselves instead of docilely accepting assimilation into the Collective like good little drones, so they are reveling in precisely the sorts of virulent homophobia against "dirt road commuters" who refuse to, um, "choke on" the totalitarian agenda of the Left.

I have acknowledged on many occasions that throughout my long and heretofore successful career, I have probably worked with one or more "putters from the rough".  I can only recall one person who was sufficiently overt about it to cause me to wonder, but I never asked him.  Know why?  Because it wasn't any of my business.  If I had Carl DeMaio for a co-worker or colleague, I'd have no problem getting a long with him.  Know why?  Because I'm rather partial to fiscal reform, economic prosperity, and government accountability myself.

And that's why the Dems are trying to destroy him - he's shattering the leftwing groupthink paradigm.  Conservative Republicans can only be....well, like me - white, male, evangelical.  Anybody else - African-Americans, Latinos, women, "gays" - MUST be liberal Democrats, and are not permitted to be ANYTHING else.  Any that wander off the reservation will be severely punished.

I don't know how viable DeMaio's congressional candidacy is in San Diego, but I'm figuring he's got a pretty good shot if these Donk muggings are any indication.  And with all the free publicity and public sympathy they're generating for him....well, you remember the Uhura Corollary: "Be careful what you wish for; you may get it."
