The sportscasters say that Aaron Hernandez is a product of his environment, and perhaps that is true. But in the end, despite the garbage we experience, we have choices we can make. Hernandez was a well paid NFL star, and he had no need to fall back on his childhood madness. Yet, the gang ties, and the bad behavior, remained with him. He made the choice, and he screwed up.
In 2012, the New England Patriots Tight End, on the verge of massive stardom on a team packed with talent, shot and killed two Boston men as they sat in a car at a stop light according to today's indictment. The death of another person, 27-year-old Odin Lloyd in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, last year, may also be a part of this case.
Hernandez pleaded not guilty to murder in the Lloyd case.
The indictment also alleges three counts of armed assault with intent to murder and one count of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. The indictment refers to gunshots fired at three surviving victims who were in the automobile with Mr. Abreu and Mr. Furtado at the time of the homicides. The indictments further charge Aaron Hernandez for unlawfully carrying a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver he used in the attack.'
