The "Stop Hillary in 2016" hysteria by many conservatives in the Republican Party is noted. She would be a difficult President of the United States to survive under, and many believe she is even more radical than the hard-left Barack Obama. However, I have been telling people she will not be the Democrat Party nominee for the next Presidential Election. The democrats have learned that accusations of racism is much more beneficial to their lust for power than the accusation of sexism. If they can't figure out a way to keep Barack Obama in office (and trust me, they are working on that too), they will need another minority. . . and they believe the preference would be a Hispanic, in order to finish their claim on that voting demographic.
This is not to say Hillary won't try. She just won't win it. The democrats need new blood, new stars, people who are all fluff, capturing the emotions of the voters, without a whole lot of history for their opposition to dig into and expose. And, like Obama, their next rising star achieved that status of being the next big thing because of a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention.
Enter into Democrat Stardom, and likely the next nomination for President of the United States for the Democrats, Julian Castro, Mayor of San Antonio. He's sharp, he's clean, and he is so far to the left that there would be no worries about him messing up the big government cataclysm set into motion by the Obama team. And just for good measure, some folks have suggested he's the nephew of Fidel Castro, the famous architect of communism in Cuba.
Except that one Castro is Mexican, and the other is Cuban.
I suppose it could be possible, but nothing has emerged as absolute evidence, so we'll remain slightly skeptical on that one for now.
The problem is, Castro's political resume is short. He has no federal experience to flaunt. Even Obama, with as little experience as he had, was at least a U.S. Senator for a short moment in time. But Castro's shortcomings when it comes to political position and experience is about to change.
President Obama is preparing to nominate Mayor Julián Castro of San Antonio as his new secretary of housing and urban development. The democrats are all excited over this, because this will possibly give Mr. Castro the lift he may need to seem like a viable candidate for the 2016 presidential race.
Castro often finds himself mentioned in conversations as a potential vice-presidential candidate for the Democrats, but even that position would need some kind of federal government experience.
The timing is perfect for Obama, as well, picking Castro to be a part of his team. It is a way to poke the Republicans in the eye as the GOP continues to block amnesty legislation. Democrats believe their opportunity to remain in power in perpetuity relies on tactics like killing the Electoral College, and courting the Hispanic vote with carrots on a stick like Julian Castro.
