Lois Lerner’s Emails Likely Gone Forever

Yup:

Ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s crashed hard drive has been recycled, making it likely the lost emails of the lightening rod in the tea party targeting controversy will never be found, according to multiple sources.

“We’ve been informed that the hard drive has been thrown away,” Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Finance Committee, said in a brief hallway interview.

Two additional sources told Politico the same late Wednesday, citing IRS officials.

It may just be standard government procedure, but the revelation is significant because some lawmakers and observers thought there was a way that tech experts could revive Lerner’s emails after they were washed away in a computer crash in the summer of 2011. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA49), for example, subpoenaed her damaged hard drive earlier this week, when he asked for “all hard drives, external drives, thumb drives and computers” and “all electronic communication devices the IRS issued to Lois G. Lerner.”...

The latest news suggests such professionals may never get the chance to try again — and the IRS has even said its criminal investigators who specialize in rebuilding hard drives to recover hidden information from criminals were unable to restore the data back in 2011. But this is only likely to further enrage Republicans, who are fuming over the matter and suspect Washington officials drove the selective scrutiny.

What?  You thought the White House was going to leave anything to chance?  Now Republicans will just have to "take their word for it".  And we already know what that word is, and what it's worth.

This is what happens when a one-time "free" press sells out to one "faction".  Or, put another way, Barack Obama is now where an unfettered Richard Nixon would have been in approximately mid-1975.  They are laughing at Republicans, laughing at the Tea Party, laughing at the Founding Fathers, laughing at the entire country that they hold in an iron-fisted vice grip.  They know they can do anything they want, and they are busily and gleefully a-doing it, secure and confident in the knowledge that nobody can, or will, stop them.

Taunts like this are what convince me that impeachment proceedings and "Republic Reviews" and Article V conventions aren't going to resurrect the Old American Republic.  Too much of the American public has been brainwashed or anesthetized for either legal/constitutional remedies to be effectual or for more "muscular" means to "catch fire," as it were.  They simply don't realize what's been done to their country, and by the time they ever did realize it, it'd be even more too late than it is already.

Bob Dole once plaintively asked of Bill Clinton's multiple scandals, "Where's the outrage"?  The answer then is the answer now: six feet under, spooning with the United States Constitution and everything else that once made America great, and which is never coming back.

I'm sure that was probably somewhere on Lois Lerner's hard drive, too.  Guess you'll just have to take my word for it.
