U.S. Forces Capture Benghazi Attack Mastermind

by JASmius

Well.  Better late than never, I suppose:

The United States has captured a man linked to the Benghazi terror attack that killed a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, authorities announced Tuesday.

The suspect, Ansar al-Sharia commander Ahmed Abu Khattala, was captured Sunday in Libya somewhere south of Benghazi in a joint U.S. military and law enforcement operation. He will face prosecution in the United States.

"I can confirm that on Sunday, June 15, the U.S. military — in cooperation with law enforcement personnel — captured Ahmed Abu Khatalla, a key figure in the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, in September 2012," spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said.

There were no civilian casualties in the raid, and the suspect was in U.S. custody at a "secure location outside of Libya," Kirby said in a statement.
I have a question.  Three of them, actually.

1) Why didn't O just "drone" him?  That's what he does to all jihadists to make it look like he's "fighting" the War Against Islamic Fundamentalism.  How is Mr. Khatalla any different?

2) When is Mr. Khatalla going to be turned loose, or traded for another deserter?  That's what O does with all jihadists that his Regime can only capture instead of "drone," and he doesn't like capturing jihadists because that brings up the sticky subjects of interrogation and imprisonment, which keeps Gitmo open longer right when he's frantically trying to purge it.

3) Since Benghazi officially never happened, why were they looking for Mr. Khatalla in the first place?  Isn't that Islamic profiling?  That's racist, you know.  I guess the Republicans made O do that.  Or maybe he made an anti-Islamic youtube video.  Yes, that must be it.

And then we remember the aspect of the Left's "lawfare" "strategy" that's been holstered for a few years but is now roaring back to the fore:

Charges were filed in U.S. District Court in Washington last year against Khattala and at least a dozen others in connection with the September 11th, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. None besides Khattala — who is expected to be arraigned in Washington — has been apprehended.

President Barack Obama signed off on the mission Friday night, reported the Washington Post, which first broke the story.

Obama confirmed Tuesday that Khattala is on his way to America to face charges.

"He is now being transported back to the United States," the president said.

He hasn't managed to do it with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, he didn't manage to do it with Osama bin Laden, but by Barack, Barack Hussein Obama is going to make Ahmed Abu Khatalla face the fearsome might and power of the American criminal justice system.

After the insanity plea he'll be a free man before the end of the year.

Khatalla, too.
