.....and traveled by plane the day before:
The second Dallas health care worker who contracted the Ebola virus was on a flight the day before her symptoms, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday.
Now, the CDC wants to interview all 132 passengers who were on the plane with her.
The woman’s name is Amber Vinson, the Reuters news agency reported.
“Because of the proximity in time between the evening flight and first report of illness the following morning, CDC is reaching out to passengers who flew on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 Cleveland to Dallas/Fort Worth October 13th,” the CDC said in a statement. The flight landed Monday at 8:16 p.m. CT. [emphasis added]
Holy God. How long is this idiocy going to be allowed to go on?
You might be wondering how Miss Vinson was exposed to the hemorrhagic contagion. And the answer would be: the same way Nina Pham and her boyfriend were. Namely, that the good folks at Texas Presbyterian Hospital have no idea what they're doing:
No one knew what the protocols were or were able to verify what kind of personal protective equipment should be worn and there was no training.
For their necks, nurses had to use medical tape, that is not impermeable and has permeable seams, to wrap around their necks in order to protect themselves, and had to put on the tape and take it off on their own.
Nurses had to interact with Mr. Duncan with whatever protective equipment was available, at a time when he had copious amounts of diarrhea and vomiting which produces a lot of contagious fluids.” [emphasis added]
Medical tape. They concealed their exposed necks with bleeping medical tape. I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on television, and I can say with utter and absolute certitude that I would not have gone anywhere near "Ebola Tom" without a full blown hazmat suit that would have left the characters in The Andromeda Strain looking stark naked. These morons were using medical tape? Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, why didn't they just use Saran Wrap and be done with it? Or Northern quilted bathroom tissue? Or a G-string?
And then, after exposing herself to the virus, Miss Vinson boarded a plane? Was allowed to board a plane? Have we lost our collective bleeping minds?
I'd suggest praying for her 132 fellow passengers that they don't come down with ebola - and by all means, we should do so - but at this point I have no idea how many others we'd be leaving out.
And neither do the feds.
But why panic, right? They have it under control, because....that's what they keep telling us. And they wouldn't lie to us - would they?
