We are told we have nothing to worry about. After Ebola Tom died of the horrible hemorrhagic disease in Dallas, one of his nurses has tested positive for the disease. . . and he was cared for by 70 hospital staffers.
The United States is just not used to this kind of emergency. After a century of science fiction stories that have used pandemic as the basis of their tales of horror, when it comes down to this White House administration, it is like watching the Keystone Cops try to mop up a hazardous waste spill.
Passengers from West Africa are disembarking in airports around the country, welcomed as freely as the diseased people crossing the Mexican border. And we really only know about these two cases. How many people in the United States are really sick with Ebola? How many cases are being hidden by family, friends, or government officials?
The simple truth is the American government has been acting in ways to protect our population in a manner about as effective as the Secret Service protecting Obama in the recent months. Piss-poor, to be frank.
