.....the States:
Although, Bill, I hope you're not really expecting this in the next two years. Not only is the GOP still forty three seats short in the House, and thirteen seats short in the Senate - at minimum - of the two thirds majorities needed to pass a Constitutional Amendment repealing the Seventeenth Amendment, but also remember that the Twenty First Amendment is the only time in 225 years that a previous Amendment has ever been repealed. It's rare because it is immensely difficult to do. Literally thousands of Constitutional Amendments have been proposed over the past two centuries and change, and only twenty seven have both passed and been ratified. And number XVII will be as tightly grasped by the Left as the one that preceded it.
Repealing the Seventeenth Amendment, if it ever happens, is far more likely to come via the Article V route. Which would be ironically fitting, actually - We, The People, in whose name Marxists have bulldozed socialism over the Fruited Plain under the label of "democracy" for over a hundred years, restoring the representation to the Founders of the Constitution and the "Republic, for which it stands" which were stripped of it in the first place.
I see that Mr. Whittle received his copy of The Basic Constitution. The insurgency continues to spread.
