Douglas V. Gibbs
A good friend of mine handed me something to deliver to a mutual acquaintance as he begins his new journey as City Councilman in Murrieta. The message is not so much out of fear that Jon Ingram will deviate from his path as a Christian man, but to simply remind him of what he needs to remember as he steps into the Lion's Den of governmental politics.
The message I was asked to relay is a truth that applies at all levels of government, and in all aspects of our own lives. We must remember who the architect of everything is, who our Creator is, and how all of this would be nothing without God. If we fail to give God the Glory, and manage our lives in accordance to His Will, all that we do is for naught.
The message is as follows:
Psalm 127:1 - Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
A simple truth we must remember from sea to shining sea, and in the places we call home. . . like Murrieta, Sacramento, Washington D.C., Ferguson, and New York City.
