George W. Bush as Santa Claus

George W. Bush had his pluses and minuses during his presidency, and opinions regarding him as President may differ, but as a human being he is a class act.  He loves our military, truly felt he was doing what was best for America while in office, and his love for this country is beyond debate.

In his post-presidency life, President Bush remains a class act.

During a hospital visit in Dallas, Texas, the 68-year-old former President threw on a Santa Claus suit and handed out toys to patients at the Children's Medical Center of Dallas who will have to spend Christmas at the facility.

Santa Bush went about his work with a grin, and the Secret Service in tow.

Some reports on Twitter said that Bush's secret service detail dressed as elves to accompany him.

President Bush never advertised his visit to the hospital, and he didn't go on Letterman to pound his fists on his chest and tell everybody how great he is.  Bush didn't call attention to himself because his reason for visiting the hospital was not for a narcissistic photo op.  Bush has kept a low profile since leaving office, and does things like visit hospitals because he really cares.

Last weekend, Bush made a surprise visit to the Sept. 11 museum in New York City. A museum spokesman says the man who was president at the time of the terrorist attacks arrived unannounced around 6 p.m. Sunday. No hoopla.  No media entourage.  Just a man who cares arriving at a place he felt he needed to pay a visit to.

Spokesman Michael Frazier says Bush toured the museum and exhibit and 'took the time to shake a lot of hands' from people who thanked him for his service.

And as expected, Bush also does a lot of work with veterans.

That is the kind of things "class acts" do.
