Kermit Gosnell's Appeals Are Aborted

by JASmius

Amazingly, almost miraculously, this mass-murderer - whose only "crime," as far as the anti-life crowd is concerned, was being so flagrantly indiscrete about the filth and butchery that is probably standard operating procedure in the abortion industry - is actually going to stay in the slammer permanently:

In his appeal, Gosnell claimed that his waiver of his appellate rights for the federal case was not valid. According to a report by the Morning Call:

“Gosnell argued that he could not have knowingly agreed to waive his federal appeal rights because the judge had warned him that if he lied, the judge could reject the plea agreement, and Gosnell would ‘lose the benefits that you now have in your plea agreement.'”

But, Gosnell’s court pleadings maintained, there were really no benefits in his federal deal — what did a thirty-year term mean when he was already serving three life terms?
The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit rejected Gosnell’s appeal, and he filed a petition on October 6th, 2014, asking the United States Supreme Court to consider his case.

The Supreme Court rejected Gosnell’s petition on its face, refusing to hear any oral argument, allowing Gosnell’s conviction and sentences to stand. At 73 years old and serving three consecutive life sentences plus the thirty year federal sentence, Gosnell will never again be a free man.

Even the pro-abortion bloc on the SCOTUS refused to hear Gosnell out?  I find that little short of stunning, and is only explicable in the context of the public relations disaster Gosnell has been for the pro-abortion movement.  Coming after the collapse of their "War on Women" meme in the 2014 midterms, the last thing they needed was to have Kermit Gosnell float to the top of the tank again like a turd that won't flush, so they are washing their hands of him en masse.

It's a pity he isn't headed for death row.  The irony would have been beyond poetic.

Exit question: Will the Black Klan now jump into the fray and denounce "Dr." Gosnell's conviction as being "racist"?  Or do even they retain enough lucidity to not want to carry around placards saying, "We are all Kermit Gosnell," especially given the abortion rate of black babies?
