Earlier this morning we reported that there was a Muslim Terrorist Attack Against a Satirical Newspaper Office in France, and as the day has progressed, information about the attackers has revealed they are not simply local Islamic lone wolves hoping to make a mark in their own country, or some unskilled wannabes acting out their terrorist fantasies. According to experts, the shooters in Paris were highly trained professionals, and likely jihad veterans from the Middle East.
The attack on Wednesday was against an office of a satirical magazine that often publishes satirical cartoons depicting the false prophet Muhammad. The gunmen involved in the attack moved skillfully, masked and garbed in black, as they executed their carefully coordinated plan. The shooters methodically sought their targets, found them, and executed them quickly. The terrorists then executed their escape plan, getting away clean before authorities were able to arrive. And the gunmen did all of this in a matter of minutes.
Police have identified the two gunmen and the getaway driver as a pair of French-born brothers and a homeless man whose nationality is not known. The names have not yet been released. Online reports state that the brothers had fought in Syria and returned to France in the summer.
According to a Fox News strategic analyst, Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, in a video that shows the two gunmen stopping their getaway car to chase down and execute a police officer raising his hand in a plea for mercy shows tactics and movement that only comes with training.
“It was evident immediately that this was a carefully planned, sophisticated operation by well-trained, well-armed veterans of jihad,” Peters said. “This was not a pick-up team. These butchers were methodical and efficient. They weren't just terrorists: They were terrorist commandos.”
Peters pointed to the focus and efficiency of the trio, contrasting it with an approach that might be expected of wild-eyed wannabes.
"[They] even stayed cool during the getaway phase. These men had killed before."
In the aftermath of the attack, images showed a police car's windshield bearing an ominously precise grouping of bullet holes, although it did not appear that the car's occupant was one of the two police officers killed.
The killers were likely trained in the Middle East, and were probably veterans of battle. More than 1,000 French jihadists are estimated to have left to fight alongside terrorist groups like Islamic State and Al Qaeda, stoking fears that they would continue to kill in the name of Islam upon return.
Regardless of where they got their training, these were Islamic jihadists who were highly trained and were using professional tactics. . . and they were unleashing their experience as efficient killing machines against the French population, and anyone who dares to stand against Islam.
The firearms used by the Paris terrorists were Russian-made AK-47s, the weapon of choice for terrorists in training camps as well as on the battlefields of Iraq and Syria.
