Temecula Constitution Class: The Preamble

We need to restore the republic, and a part of that process is to understand the tool the Founding Fathers gave us to accomplish the task.  It begins with the Preamble, and that is what we are addressing in tonight's Temecula Constitution Class.  Last Tuesday the Corona Class was rocked by my presentation.  Sure, we learned to recite the Preamble of the United States Constitution back in school long ago, but did you truly understand what the words meant?
Language means something
The words used, and the way they were applied in the Preamble, gives us many clues to how our system of government is supposed to function.  Did you know that the Preamble is not legally binding?  It is the introduction.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common Defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
How to Learn the Constitution
Classes on the Constitution are just beginning.  This is your chance to finally understand the document, and become an efficient and effective debater on the topic.  And the great thing about Doug's Constitution Classes is that the setting is informal, with plenty of room for you to ask questions.

Tonight's Class meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm at Faith Armory, 41669 Winchester Road, in Temecula just west of Jefferson along Winchester Road, almost directly across the street from Farmer Boys.
