Bowe Bergdahl, A Traitor All Along

by JASmius

Oh, my, this is awkward for the "served with honor and distinction" Narrative:

A 2009 NCIS investigation into "Sergeant" Bowe Bergdahl’s activities while in Afghanistan reveal that there is clear evidence Bergdahl was “going over to the other side with a deliberate plan,” Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Shaffer said on Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor Monday night.

Shaffer, a former military intelligence officer and Fox News contributor, said two senior sources told him that the Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigation included a forensic review of his computer, which show Bergdahl's apparent intent to travel to Uzbekistan.

“He was going to go off to Uzbekistan,” Shaffer told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly. “He had made contact with local Afghans and wanted to be moved to Uzbekistan and then made contact with the Russians because he wanted to talk to Russian organized crime.

“Clearly he was not all there relating to what he was doing,” Shaffer told O’Reilly. “I think we’re going to see more and more, as this report is made public that there were a number of disconcerting things within Bergdahl.” [emphases added]

Of course, The One will learn about this "in the newspapers," like he does every White House-embarrassing revelation.  But this report clearly indicates that Bergdahl was planning to defect, whether to the Taliban or the Russians, and did not just randomly "wander off" into the Hindu Kush.  And it also clearly indicates that Obama knew, or had no reason not to know, about it, which provides the context for how the Regime kept close tabs on Bergdahl while he was serving the enemy and the hero's welcome they threw for him after exchanging the Taliban Dream Team for him.  It also raises questions about why treason was not among the charges filed against Bergdahl by the Obarmy, and whether the Obanavy report will get those charges updated to include treason.

In the mean time, expect Lieutenant Colonel Shaffer to be vilified and audited and perhaps even "disappeared" in the very near future, depending upon how toe-curling things get for the White House as a result of this latest revelation, and the more so that it does, expect them to double down on the "Bergdahl is the twenty-first century Audie Murphy" party line.  They're incapable of reacting any other way.
