He did, though, get up off of his prayer rug to do so.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is a man who never runs out of middle fingers to extend:
Barack Obama mixed a joking poke at his critics with his Easter-themed remarks Tuesday at a White House prayer breakfast.
Because persecuting Christians has always been "Easter-themed"....from the Roman perspective.
“On Easter I do reflect on the fact that as a Christian I am supposed to love,” Obama said. “And I have to say that sometimes, when I've listened to less-than-loving expressions by Christians, I get concerned.”
You mean like, say, Judas Iscariot? A man with whom you have a great deal in common.
“But that’s a topic for another day,” he added, to loud laughter from the audience. “I was about to veer off. I’m pulling it back.”
That's a topic for every day of your miserable, misbegotten life, Barry. And you never pull back. Ever. In fact, you never "veer off," because you never alter your Christophobic course.
Y'see, a true Christian POTUS would regularly speak out against the persecution of his brethren and sistren around the world. A true Christian POTUS would denounce the religiocultural cleansing of Christians from the Middle East. A true Christian POTUS would condemn Islamic State atrocities against Christians in their conquered territories. A true Christian POTUS would not be chasing Chamberlainian fantasies about Iran's nuclear weapons and would instead be calling for the mullahs to release the Christian pastors they have imprisoned and are torturing on a daily basis. And there would be no better setting in which to do so than the National Prayer Breakfast two months ago or the White House Easter Prayer Breakfast today.
But what did we get instead? Tiresome, historically illiterate denunciations of Christiandom at the former, and playground taunting of evangelicals at the latter.
Our LORD taught that a man will be known "by his fruits". Or, as Bruce Wayne put it in Batman Begins:
Barack Obama's actions reveal him to be about as "Christian" as Anton Lavey.
Cue MY laugh track.
