Temecula Constitution Class: Wrapping Up The Enumerated Powers

Instructor: Douglas V. Gibbs

Temecula Constitution Class at 6:30 pm
One Hour Presentation
Faith Armory
41669 Winchester Road
Temecula, CA

Tonight we are wrapping up Article I, Section 8.

Recent issues that will be inserted into tonight's discussion:

Bundy Ranch: Is federal ownership or control over property as we see with the Bureau of Land Management constitutional?

Operation Jade Helm: The framers feared the army being used against the people, yet we are seeing military operations among the civilian population being put into action regularly during the current administration.  What protections are in the Constitution to protect us against such a possibility?  What about Posse Comitatus?

Implied Powers: Can the President use constitutional interpretation or "precedent" to support his actions as he decides to do as he pleases, with or without Congress?  What about the Necessary and Proper Clause (Elastic Clause)?  How does that final clause of Article I, Section 8 come into play?

Join us tonight for these discussions, and more.
