A tweak here and there in the original charge list, but otherwise it appears that Mrs. Mosby's grand jury is as stacked as Angelina Jolie used to be before her preemptive double mastectomy:
All six Baltimore police officers charged for the death of Freddie Gray have been indicted by a grand jury.
Additionally, the state attorney said the charges to the officers - previously imposed on May 1st - have been modified to better reflect her office's investigation.
"As our investigation has continued, additional info has been discovered, and, as is often the case, additional charges can be added," Baltimore State Attorney Marilyn Mosby said during a press conference.
Mosby did not not take questions after the announcement. The officers will be arraigned on July 2nd.
Caesar Goodson Jr., William Porter, Brian Rice, Edward Nero, Garret Miller and Alicia White have all been indicted. Their charges include:
Officer Caesar Goodson Jr.: second degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, second degree negligent assault, manslaughter by vehicle and gross negligence, manslaughter by vehicle criminal negligence, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner, reckless endangerment
Officer William Porter: Involuntary manslaughter, second degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner, reckless endangerment
Lieutenant Brian Rice: Involuntary manslaughter, second degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner and an illegal arrest, reckless endangerment
Officer Edward Nero: Second degree intentional assault, misconduct in office for an illegal arrest, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner, reckless endangerment
Officer Garret Miller: Second degree intentional assault, misconduct in office for an illegal arrest, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner, reckless endangerment
Sergeant Alicia White: Involuntary manslaughter, second degree negligent assault, misconduct in office for failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner, reckless endangerment
If the trial jury isn't as kangaroo-ish at the grand jury, any charge pertaining to negligence, reckless endangerment, "failure to perform a duty regarding safety of a prisoner," and anything involuntary should and will be fair game, and convictions will probably be won on at least most of them. Anything intentional, and especially "second degree depraved heart murder," will not be. And since the latter charges will be the ones that get the most publicity, when Officers Goodson and Miller (at minimum) are acquitted of them, even if they and their colleagues are convicted on all the others, it will be depicted by the media as the "Baltimore Six" having been "found not guilty" of "murdering Freddie Gray". And then the rest of Baltimore will burn.
Gonna be a long, hot summer in Charm City, even before the flames return.

Is "second degree depraved heart murder" intentional in Maryland?
I'm not seeing any intentional act crimes beyond possibly touching in second degree intentional assault, which is not a crime in a legal detainment or arrest.
