We became the greatest nation on Earth, envy of the world, with prosperity that led to the United States eventually becoming the lone super power in the world...and it mostly came as a result of our future generations being educated in a little red schoolhouse. Since the federal government has seized control of education, our place in the world has plummeted and despite pumping massive amounts of money into the system it's not been getting any better.
First, it is obvious we need to return to what worked. We need to go back to smaller, locally controlled settings as well as return to the curriculum that teaches the 3 R's.
Second, from a constitutional viewpoint, federal involvement in education is completely unlawful. Internal issues are supposed to be handled by the local governments, not the leviathan in Washington. That goes for federal intrusion into the colleges, too.
