Yesterday we relayed Rush Limbaugh's insightful prediction that the Left is going to go so overboard on this Dylann Roof/Confederate flag bender that they will target every American symbol for "anti-racist" destruction as well, up to and including the American flag itself. I've even seen speculation elsewhere that libs might take it so far as to demand that our nation's capital be renamed (how about "Obama, D.C."?) because George Washington was, at one time, a slaveholder (he married into them and freed them upon his death, but details and nuances have no place in a leftwingnut anti-white racist rampage).
This morning, CNN host Ashleigh Banfield called for the bulldozing of the Jefferson Memorial:
Hey, I did say that the Left is already starting to overplay their hand, as they always do. And this wouldn't be the first time that they've hissed at and smeared the Founding Father, author of the Declaration of Independence and third President of the United States. If they want to continue shrieking and agitating their way into another looming political fiasco that (almost) makes Dylann Root into a quasi-sympathetic figure, far be it from me to stand in the way.
Exit question: So who takes Jefferson's place on the two-dollar bill? I'd suggest Al Sharpton, but he's aleady on the three-dollar bill.
