Oh, wait, that's right, the Regime unloaded its controlling interest in the once and future General Motors a year and a half ago, didn't they? At a huge, honking taxpayer loss, of course.
Which helps explain why they now feel free as the wind to take down the new owners:
Federal prosecutors are weighing criminal wire fraud charges against General Motors over the company's failure to recall vehicles equipped with faulty ignition switches, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
Citing people familiar with the matter, the newspaper said U.S. prosecutors in New York are considering other possible charges and have not made a final decision. Authorities hope to reach a settlement with the automaker by the end of summer or early fall, it reported.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the report, and representatives for the U.S. Department of Justice and General Motors could not be reached for comment.
Two questions for your consideration: (1) Isn't it....interesting that GM comes into the Regime's crosshairs so quickly after the Regime no longer is its owner of record; and (2) what do you think the chances are that the faulty ignition switch problem and perhaps also the failure to issue a recall notice originated when General Motors was still Obama Motors?
Inquiring minds that love GM parody acronyms like "Car Has Expensive Valve Rattle On Long, Extended Trips" want to know.
