RINOs Want To Be In Castros' Band

by JASmius

<Sigh>  Should we be outraged by this?  Or is it simply the inevitable result of another Obama policy betrayal we couldn't prevent and has now clearly become entrenched?:

A visiting delegation of Republican U.S. lawmakers met Saturday with Cuban Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel to discuss the island's economy and closer ties between Havana and Washington.

Diaz-Canel "welcomed this Saturday Republicans Jeff Flake, Susan Collins and Patrick Roberts, senators from Arizona, Maine and Kansas, respectively, who are paying a visit to Cuba," a presenter read out on state television.

"There was discussion on how the process of updating our country's economic and social model is going, and the current context of Cuba-U.S. relations including the need to end the blockade," the statement added, referring to comprehensive U.S. sanctions in place since 1962.

Also on hand was Josefina Vidal, Cuba's top diplomat for U.S. affairs. She leads the Cuban side in ongoing negotiations on reestablishing full diplomatic ties.

Flake supports ending restrictions the United States still has on its nationals spending money in Cuba -- it amounts to an effective travel ban for American tourists. Tourism is a pillar of Cuba's economy.

None of this nose-horned trio would have led the charge to re-legitimize this enemy regime, but now that Barack Obama has done it, they aren't wasting any time in obsequiously and enthusiastically joining in the festivities.

Would keeping their fingerprints off of this sellout have made any practical difference?  No.  But it would have honored the principle O bowing the knee to the Castros eviscerated by virtue of refusing to be a party to it.

But then no RINO ever saw a principle they wouldn't abandon, for the right woefully insufficient price.
