Marines Say No To Women In Combat

by JASmius

Remember the Obama Regime's insane dry to destroy infantry combat readiness in the U.S. Marine Corps by insisting upon gender integration even in that capacity?  Looks like the Marines, as is their milieu, are not going down without a fight:

The Marine Corps is expected to ask that women not be allowed to compete for several front-line combat jobs, inflaming tensions between Navy and Marine leaders, U.S. officials say.

The tentative decision has ignited a debate over whether Navy Secretary Ray Mabus can veto any Marine Corps proposal to prohibit women from serving in certain infantry and reconnaissance positions. And it puts General Joseph Dunford, the Marine Corps commandant who takes over soon as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at odds with the other three military services, who are expected to open all of their combat jobs to women.

Supinely and obsequiously.  But in the other three services, that is at least a somewhat complex and non-cut & dried question because of the hi-tech nature of twenty-first century combat that mitigates (although certainly doesn't eliminate) the physical aspects of the job.  But as we've discussed before, the Marines are infantry warriors by definition.  And in war, the second best soldier, just like the second best army, usually winds up dead.

This was the conclusion of the high-ranking non-com who helped conduct the Marine Corps's tests with gender-integrated units:

Some Marines familiar with the corps’s integration study are concerned that changes to current operations could threaten lives. Sergeant-Major Justin D. LeHew, a decorated Iraq war veteran who oversaw the integration tests, said in a post on his personal Facebook page this week that lowering standards to allow women into combat teams would endanger other Marines. The post was soon taken down, but was published by Marine Corps Times.

“In regards to the infantry… there is no trophy for second place. You perform or die,” Sergeant LeHew wrote. “Make no mistake. In this realm, you want your fastest, most fit, most physical and most lethal person you can possibly put on the battlefield to overwhelm the enemy’s ability to counter what you are throwing at them, and in every test case, that person has turned out to be a man. There is nothing gender biased about this; it is what it is.” [emphasis added]

Why tests were needed to "prove" what everybody already knows - men are, generally speaking, bigger, stronger, faster, and more aggressive than women - simply reflects the lunatic Bizarro World we live in.  But the facts are the facts.  Does this mean that there aren't women who couldn't meet undiminished physical standards for infantry combat?  Not at all; I'm sure that some female Marines could make that grade, just as there are plenty of men who couldn't (your humble pundit, for example).  Keep the standards where they are and allow women to earn their way to infantry combat status and I certainly would have fewer grounds of objecting.

But those lady warriors would be the exception to the rule.  And Barack Obama's rule is that the U.S. military be as feminized as it has been sodomized, and to hell with fielding the strongest, most capable fighting force we possibly can.

Rush Limbaugh likes to say that the purpose of the military is to "kill people and break things".  Not any more; now the purpose of the military is to be just as big a leftwingnut freak show as they've "fundamentally transformed" the rest of America into.  Is this the one enemy that even the U.S. Marine Corps can't overcome?

I'd rather not have to answer that question.

Semper menstruatam.
