We have been the shining beacon on the hill. The United States has been the example, the standard for liberty, the ideal for the rest of the world to follow.
The foundation of the United States is based on the rule of law, which is the Law's of Nature of Nature's God. Natural Law, as people like John Locke explained it. Our rights are endowed to us by our Creator. Benjamin Franklin said that "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
A moral people follow the rule of law because it is the good and righteous thing to do. When a people abandon their moral compass, the society becomes corrupt and vicious and needs more regulations to keep it from destroying itself. Politicians form rules and push their own moral standards based on the rule of man and moving forward their agenda. Our human nature is flawed. Despite all of the assurances that what they do is for the "common good," those good intentions by a political class that have abandoned the foundational principles that have made America great will lead us straight to ruin. And as our nation crumbles within, much like the Roman Republic eventually did, fallen humanity seeks paths away from liberty, towards bondage, without even realizing it. Chaos ensues, and tyrants seeking power no longer hold back for fear of retaliation by a good nation with the willingness to protect liberty.
Wayne LaPierre from the National Rifle Association once said, "The best defense against a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." The same goes worldwide. The best defense against evil in the world is a good and moral America serving as a superpower and deterrent to evil.
Peace through strength.
Peace is not possible if America is not strong, and as the United States falls to the oligarchy madness that the rest of the world seems to seek to embrace, the rest of the world will fall.
President Barack Obama is an anti-American President. His ideas for what America should be are completely foreign to the principles that established our founding. He said he wanted to foundationally transform the United States. . . and he is succeeding.
As the United States is being knocked down a few notches, the leftist regimes of the world are taking advantage. Islam is committing Hijrah (jihad by emigration) against Europe, while telling the world it is simply the fleeing of refugees from a war-torn Middle East. American officials are also encouraging the same Islamic invasion to the Land of the Free. Russia is flexing its military muscles not only in Eastern Europe, but in Syria, and the Mediterranean Sea.
This is all happening because the current administration is trying to appease, rather than be a strong good guy...and because our society has decided government control over their lives and internal decadence is better than having moral standards, and liberty.
Bondage will be soon to follow.
