For what's left of my money, this is a better show than that other movie that's debuting today:
The Democrat National Committee has barred Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign from accessing its voter database after a software glitch allowed it to review Hillary Clinton’s private campaign information, a DNC official told NBC News.
The breach happened after a software error at the technology company NGP VAN, which provides campaigns with voter data. As a result of the glitch, “all users on the system across the Democrat campaigns were inadvertently able to access some data belonging to other campaigns for a brief window,” DNC spokesman Luis Miranda said in a statement.
The [Rodham] campaign declined to comment.
Which is the more hilarious? The Empress getting cyberplundered again or the man who claimed he was tired of hearing about Hillary Clinton’s scandals in handling classified data doing the cyberplundering? Sounds like a dead heat to me.
True to his party - well, ideological affiliation, anyway - Weekend Bernie refused to own his campaign's heist and punted the blame to the DNC's IT contractor:
Weaver said the Sanders campaign never downloaded or printed any of the data, meaning it is no longer in possession of any proprietary information.
Which means they were frantically taking notes by hand.
He squarely blamed NGP VAN for the glitch — and blamed the DNC for hiring the company.
“Sadly, the DNC is relying on an incompetent vendor who on more than one occasion has dropped the firewall between the various Democrat candidates’ data,” he said.
The DNC, for its part, and not to be outdone, as noted above, cut off the Sanders campaign entirely. For which the latter is now suing the former:
Bernie Sanders' campaign on Friday threatened to take the Democrat National Committee to federal court if the party organization doesn’t restore the campaign’s access to a crucial voter database….
Without which they'd have to start from scratch barely more than a month from the first ballots being cast, which is akin to cutting Bernie's balls off right as he's about to....okay, he probably doesn't do that sort of thing anymore if he needs podiums to hold himself up, but you get the point I'm trying to make.
At a press conference in Washington on Friday, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver charged the DNC was trying to sabotage the campaign and vowed to fight the DNC in federal court if the Sanders campaign’s access to the data is not restored.
“The DNC, in an inappropriate overreaction, has denied us access to our own data,” Weaver said. “In other words, the leadership of the Democrat National Committee is actively trying to undermine our campaign … If they hold our data hostage, we will be in federal court this afternoon seeking immediate relief.”
You could almost conclude that the DNC is exploiting this opportunity to cripple Mrs. Clinton's main rival and stack the primary deck in her favor, couldn't you? Picture if the GOP race had come down to Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz, and the RNC cut off Senator Cruz's voter data a month out from the Iowa Caucuses, and what Tea Partiers' reaction would have been. Sulfuric and volcanic don't begin to describe it. Does anybody still doubt me on Hillary Clinton fearing Bernie Sanders, not being the true Democrat frontrunner, and needing outside interference to push her to the Democrat nomination?
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that NGP VAN was paid off by La Clinton Nostra to expose Mrs. Clinton's voter data to frame Sanders. The DNC does appear to be overreacting and overacting at the same time.
