Looks like the pic I posted in my post about this the other day showing a signing ceremony was a wee bit premature:
Oklahoma's Republican Governor Mary Fallin on Friday vetoed a bill that called for prison terms of up the three years for doctors who performed abortions, saying the legislation "would not withstand a criminal constitutional legal challenge."...
That's a glib excuse, not a legitimate justification. Is Governor Fallin pro-life or isn't she? If she is, every dollar of legal fees in the "bruising legal battle" the baby-killers were promising would have been well-spent and completely worth it, no matter how predictable the outcome. It would have been every bit the battle for the principle of defending the right to life that tighty-righties have incessantly demanded for years. Tighty-righties like Mary Fallin.
I guess she really isn't pro-life after all. Which makes sense, given that she's a Trump supporter.
"The bill is so ambiguous and so vague that doctors cannot be certain what medical circumstances would be considered 'necessary to preserve the life of the mother,'" Fallin said, in a statement from her office, where she was described as "the most pro-life governor in the nation."
Another glib excuse. If she were pro-life, she'd have signed the bill. She vetoed it instead, which means she isn't pro-life. It's as simple as that.
Thanks for that clarification, Governor. You can stop sending me those fundraising emails now. Beats me why you were sending them to somebody living in a State two thousand miles away, anyway. How much less reason do you have for spamming me with them now.
