As expected, the liberal left leaning news media has twisted their reporting of the Orlando shooting at a gay nightclub to fit the Democrat Party narrative about Islam, guns, and the homosexual agenda.
In his comments about the Orlando shooting, President Obama used the word "terror", but did not connect "Islam" or "Muslim" to the shooting. The narrative by the liberal left Democrats and the media is not that the shooter was Muslim, or that the attack may possibly be an Islamic terrorist attack. For the purpose of their narrative, the attack is being characterized as an "anti-gay" attack because the nightclub was a homosexual hangout.
If homophobia was the motive of the shooter, then why was Walt Disney World a potential target?
The killer was an Islamic terrorist carrying out jihad because he's Muslim. Do Muslims hate homosexuals? Yes. Is it possible he enjoyed a twisted sense of joy knowing that he was killing gays? Probably. Did Mateen carry out the heinous act specifically because the people were gay in that nightclub? Probably not. He, as a Muslim, desired to carry out jihad against the infidel, no matter who those infidels are. He didn't kill because the nightclub attendees were gay, he killed because he is a Muslim carrying out jihad, and that is what they do.
The second case of false reporting is even more obvious, and dubious.
The initial report by the media has been that the weapons of choice by the attacker were a Glock pistol, and an AR-15. The AR-15, a rifle no different than a hunting rifle except for its cosmetic changes to make it look aesthetically more pleasing to some gun owners, and except for the fact that it is a gun used by the military, has been on the radar of the anti-gun nuts for a while. They falsely call the gun an assault weapon, and have been looking for a way to further target the AR-15 for confiscation from the public.
Except, the rifle used by the killer was not an AR-15.

A video at the Washington Post is captioned: “Orlando shooter Omar Mateen used an AR-15 style rifle to kill at least 49 people, officials say. Here’s what you need to know about the gun some are calling ‘the gold standard for mass murder.'”
But, Bob Owens wrote at Bearing Arms, they got it wrong.
“Here’s the thing,” he wrote. “The rifle used by the Islamist terrorist in Orlando was not an AR-15.”
He explained:
The rifle used by the Islamist terrorist in Orlando was instead a Sig Sauer MCX carbine, a modular, multi-caliber (able to swap to different calibers, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, and 7.62×39) rifle system that sometimes utilizes STANAG magazines common to more than 60 different firearms, but otherwise has no major parts that interface with AR-15s in any way, shape or form.
Of course, the complex doesn’t care about getting the facts straight. All they care about is driving a narrative while pushing gun control.
Owens adds:
All the media cares about is that they’ve wrapped their anti-gun dreams on demonizing the most popular rifle sold in the United States, and they’re going to keep attacking it, whether or not it was used in any particular incident or not.
