The Bay Area, and their fellow Democrats, are well known for lights out. They are lights out on killing free speech (Ann Coulter is the latest conservative speaker to be attacked in Berkeley), the lights are going out regarding solar energy, the Democrats in Sacramento are trying to turn the lights out on private properties by messing with Proposition 13 with San Francisco Democrat Nancy Pelosi calling for support of the bill, and then there is the literal lights out in San Francisco due to a power outage.
Friday Morning's blackout in several San Francisco neighborhoods forced the closure of businesses, a BART station, cable car service and a federal courthouse.
According to Pacific Gas and Electric Co., 95,000 customers lost power. There was a fire at a substation, but it is not clear if the fire and the outage are connected.
