Advertisers and people alike have been exclaiming "Happy 4th of July." The problem is, "4th of July" is simply a date. It is not a Happy 4th! We should not diminish the meaning of what the day is by simply calling it the 4th of July. The date is important because we are celebrating Independence Day, the date on the Declaration of Independence upon which the Founding Fathers mutually pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor (with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence). By leaving out "Independence Day," we cheapen the true meaning of what the day is all about.
In a society where the liberal left seeks to ban history, (be it going after the confederate battle flag, or rewriting history in academia or through common core, why would we help them with their sinister task by diminishing the meaning of Independence Day by simply calling it the 4th of July?

I TOTALLY agree and make sure to respond to ¨Happy 4th´ with the correct name for the occasion. ...and since Hillary is NOT the president, we have a truly independent nation to still celebrate.
